About Tony Roma's

The warm, inviting ambiance of the dining space sets a personable tone that resonates with both tourists and locals searching for a slice of classic American hospitality. The lighting is subtle yet functional, complementing the casual vibe without overwhelming the senses. Moments spent here often involve observing the ebb and flow of diners; conversations blend with the clink of cutlery, creating a background hum that enhances the experience rather than distracts. Patrons curious about Tony Roma's menu will find familiar staples alongside some variations that hint at local preferences, though certain dishes lean heavily into American comfort food traditions, which might feel less adventurous to those seeking something innovative.

Among the standout dishes are the ribs, which maintain their reputation with a balance of tenderness and a smoky glaze that satisfies expectations. However, some might notice slight inconsistencies in seasoning across visits, a point often noted in various Tony Roma's reviews. The side options offer a decent variety, though not all elevate the main courses in equal measure. Service in this context appears generally attentive, though peak dining hours may introduce a slower rhythm, a trade-off not uncommon in popular establishments. Those exploring Tony Roma's photos online before their visit will note the appealing presentation, an element that largely holds true in person, adding to the overall gratification despite minor shortcomings.

Value-wise, the restaurant positions itself in the mid-range spectrum, offering a familiar taste of American dining without pushing culinary boundaries. Whether it’s a quick meal or a longer gathering, the environment supports a relaxed, unpretentious experience where comfort food and casual dining intersect. Observing other guests reveals a broad demographic appeal, contributing to a lively yet approachable atmosphere. While some may wish for more creative flair, the consistency and recognizable flavor profiles serve as a dependable choice within Santa Cruz de Tenerife's diverse dining landscape.

Starter - Absolutely delicious!!! We had the Sampler to share, lots of flavour and very good portion sizes between us. Main - Bit of a let down honestly by comparison… I had the Carolina Honey Ribs and Husband had Surf and Terf. Ribs were cooked perfectly and fell of the bone, Steak was exactly as requested (MR), but unfortunately neither meal had much flavour to it…Husband said the Steak was completely un-seasoned and all the flavour was in the sauce, and the Ribs just tasted very bland. As said, Starter was amazing, so it wasn’t a completely bad experience, and maybe had we had different mains they would have been better.

Down by a Chip Mishap We searched on Google for the best ribs in the area as my wife really fancied some, and Tony Roma’s came highly recommended — conveniently located not far from our hotel. We decided to give it a try, and my wife was not disappointed. Her ribs were delicious, tender, and full of flavour, while I opted for the surf and turf, which was excellent. The prawns were perfectly cooked and full of taste, and the steak was beautifully tender and done exactly how I like it. When the food first arrived, my wife’s chips were stone cold, so she politely asked for some fresh ones. Within a few minutes, new chips arrived at the table, hot and crisp — great service. However, when the bill came, we were surprised to see we’d been charged for an extra portion of chips, even though we had only asked for a replacement due to the original ones being cold. Despite that small disappointment, we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food quality was excellent, the service was good, and at €66 for two meals with drinks, it felt like good value overall. A great dining experience — just a shame about the mix-up with the chips, which is why we’ve rated it four stars instead of five.

Very good ribs and burgers. Also the desserts are great and also the milkshakes. This place is just 100% Tony Roma style, good food and no nonsense. What you see is what you get. The portions are not large, if you don't like fries you can have baked potato instead.

Been going Tony Romas from back in the day when often frequented it in Banff Canada in the early 2000's. Not as good as it used to be but the food is still good and worth a visit if you fancy a rack of ribs especially which is what it's renowned for. Always seems quite nowadays and a bit of a neglected chain but still enjoyed the food and would go back.

The best barbecue food I have ever eaten! We chose to have the meal for 2 option and really enjoyed everything. It was a bit too much food so recommend asking for a box to take any in if you do not finish it. The ribs were delicious and melt in your mouth, and the chicken was tasty and juicy. The sides were also really good. Service was really good and we thoroughly enjoyed the country music playlist. Cannot recommend Tony Roma's enough!

The food is really really realy good. Yes the cost may seem a bit too much. But I tell you what, it costs itself!! The waiter was really kind and he knew what hewas talking about. I've been waiting for food just for 15 to 20 minutes. Really good place to visit at the final evening in Tenerife or if you want to have a good shot with your friends!!
